AVITENG continues to offer scalable and future-proof communication systems that enhance operational safety in the maritime and offshore sectors.

The NB71 and NB76 Construction Support Vessels projects represent successful implementations of high-availability, IP-based critical communication solutions developed for modern support vessels operating in the offshore energy and maritime sectors.

Featuring a length of 100 meters, a deadweight capacity of 5,000 tons, and a Knuckle Boom AHC crane system with a 10-meter outreach and 150-ton lifting capacity, these vessels meet the contemporary demands of the maritime industry with their 100-person accommodation capacity, eco-friendly approach, and advanced technology systems.

Within the scope of this project, the onboard operational communication infrastructure was designed and implemented to cover command and crew call telephone systems, radio integration, and intercom solutions. To ensure high availability and uninterrupted communication, products from industry-leading brands such as Clear-Com, Industrial network infrastructure, and Zenitel were utilized in the solution.

System Architecture

At the center of the project, the Clear-Com Arcadia Central Station forms the centralized intercom and audio distribution infrastructure among all critical operational areas of the vessels.

Operating over an IP-based network architecture, the system provides real-time and low-latency communication between:

  • ROV Control Rooms

  • Hospital and Living Quarters
  • Technical Service Areas.

Technologies Used

Located at the heart of the central communication infrastructure, the Clear-Com Arcadia Central Station provides full IP-based voice communication between all quarters of the vessels. Thanks to its flexible and scalable architecture, the system increases operational efficiency by combining different communication technologies under a single platform.

While communication between fixed stations is carried out over a wired IP infrastructure, the Clear-Com FreeSpeak II wireless intercom system was utilized in mobile working areas such as crane operations. Thus, reliable and uninterrupted communication was achieved between AHC crane operators and deck crews.

Supported by industrial network infrastructure and Zenitel communication terminals, the system offers high voice quality, low latency, and maximum availability across all operational areas of the vessels.

Wireless Crane Communications

To meet the uninterrupted communication needs of mobile personnel during AHC crane operations, the Clear-Com FreeSpeak II wireless intercom system was deployed.

Thanks to wireless beltpack terminals, reliable and instant communication is provided between crane operators, deck crews, and operations managers.

This structure enhances operational safety while contributing to a more efficient execution of business processes.
