ABOUT THE PROJECT

Operating under the Consulate General of France in Istanbul on Istiklal Street, the French Cultural Institute (Institut Français Istanbul) hosts a wide array of cultural events including film screenings, theater performances, concerts, panels, and exhibitions, alongside French language courses. The Multi-Purpose Hall within the institute features a flexible infrastructure designed to serve both academic and diplomatic meetings, as well as performing arts and acoustic shows requiring high audio performance.

Within the scope of the project carried out in the Multi-Purpose Hall of the French Cultural Center at the Consulate General of France in Istanbul, high acoustic quality professional audio (Pro Audio), power amplification, stage/studio monitoring, and wireless microphone infrastructures were installed to meet the versatile operational needs of the venue.


WHAT WE DID

Sound Distribution and Speaker Installation Work

  • On-Stage Reference Monitors: Harmonic Design on-stage reference (monitor) speakers were installed to allow artists, speakers, and presenters performing in the multi-purpose hall to monitor themselves and the broadcast with high acoustic fidelity during live performances.
  • Stage Side-Fill / Upper Speakers: Harmonic Design main broadcast speakers were installed and angled at the upper side-stage areas to ensure homogeneous, balanced, and clear sound coverage across the audience area in the hall.
  • Under-Stage Subwoofer: A Harmonic Design subwoofer was installed under the stage area to fulfill low-frequency (bass) requirements for music, film screenings, and live performances.
  • Professional Studio Headphones: DAP Audio professional studio headphones were integrated into the system to enable the technical team and audio operators to perform high-precision reference listening (monitoring) during broadcasting, recording, and live performances.
  • Power Amplification: Dynacord professional amplifiers were installed to meet the dynamic power demands of the speakers and ensure high-efficiency power driving.

Signal Management and Mixer Integration

  • Allen & Heath 16+3 Channel Digital Mixer: An Allen & Heath touchscreen 16+3 channel digital mixer was supplied and configured, offering flexible channel management, equalization, and digital routing according to various event types.

Conference and Wireless Microphone Systems

  • Relacart Wireless Chairman / Delegate Microphones: Integration of Relacart wireless chairman and delegate microphone systems was completed for panels, sessions, and conferences to be held in the hall.
  • Relacart Wireless Handheld and Lapel Microphones (Stage Use): Relacart wireless handheld and lapel microphones were supplied for stage use, presentations, and mobile performances, integrated into the system following RF frequency scanning and receiver setup.

Cabinet Installation and Infrastructure Connections

  • Rack Cabinet Installation: Dynacord amplifiers, mixer infrastructure components, Relacart wireless receivers, and central units were mounted inside the rack cabinet.
  • Signal and Power Connections: Inter-device audio, power, and data cabling were completed, rendering the audio infrastructure of the multi-purpose hall turn-key operational.
